Find Out What Top Robot Vacuum Tricks The Celebs Are Making Use Of
Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren’t as good at picking up debris such as metal screws or pasta pieces. But they’re amazing at sweeping dust, pet hair and crumbs. The best models feature smart navigation technology and object avoidance capabilities which allow them to navigate around cords, toys and other household obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that comes with a number smart features to make it easier to maintain. Its automatic bin emptying is one of the most useful features we’ve seen in the form of a robot and it is compatible on both hard floors and carpets. The app will guide you through the entire process. It’s also simple to use and set up. Its ability to restart where it left off during our tests is a great feature. It did this for 77 minutes on one cleaning before the battery ran out.
The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums that we tested has a self emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment on its charging base once it is fully filled. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it still needs to be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7model, this model also uses the latest floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 is also able to utilize its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO cannot.
The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing debris from the surface when compared to other robovacs that we have reviewed, but it is not the most effective in cleaning edges and corners. It’s also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being relatively quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture, as it pushed chairs away. It also caused collisions with the sides of the test bed.
2. Black & Decker Pro Q5
If you’re looking to increase your collection of robot vacuums, or just starting out using one, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. It packs serious power, a smart navigation system, and handy automation into a slick design at an affordable price. It’s the best pound-for-pound model available today and is even better than some of Roborock’s more expensive models in a variety of ways.
This robot does an excellent job of cleaning floors with no dust and its avoidance system assists it in avoiding furniture legs and other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and scores the highest score on our tests of navigation. The only issue is that it’s more noisy than other models and doesn’t perform as well in our owner-satisfaction and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large 770ml dust bin that means you don’t have to empty it as frequently as other 2-in-1 robots. Its 240-minute runtime is also very generous compared to others we’ve examined. If the battery is depleted, it returns to its dock and recharges before continuing cleaning where it stopped. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and use voice commands with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is among the first robots we’ve seen to incorporate 3D mapping. This, in conjunction with other advancements, allows it to perform exceptionally well in our mopping and vacuuming tests. You can schedule cleanings, set no-go zones, and check the status of the battery as well as other things. The app is easy to use, even though it isn’t compatible with Apple HomeKit; that feature is expected to be available by 2025. As of November 1, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that this feature is delayed until 2025. Several other robots don’t work with HomeKit, robotvacuummops but many of them are compatible with Siri Shortcuts.

With powerful suction and three settings for dry mopping, the TP Link RV30 Plus quickly picks up dust, pet hair, crumbs and other particles from all types of flooring. The device can even clean carpets without damaging them due to the special mop.
During the first mapping session the TP-Link RV30 Plus scans and records the home’s layout using its LiDAR and Gyro dual navigation system. You can modify the map in the app and combine or split rooms based on your preference. You can also design virtual walls and no-go zones to stop the RV30 Plus from wandering in areas you do not wish to visit.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop robot vacuum and mop is among the top full-featured robots for flooring made of hard wood. It comes with a sophisticated navigation system that does an outstanding job of mapping your home’s layout even across multiple floors. And the well-designed base station nearly completely automates the cleaning process. It also offers impressive obstacles-avoiding and navigation.
This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to create a map of your home, resulting in efficient cleaning routes. The iMop received high marks for its accuracy and navigation. It also did a great job avoiding obstacles like furniture. It can also find its way back to the base station if it runs out of batteries during an exercise of cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode lets you to clean a certain area of your floor. It can also be manually programmed to follow a fixed route, which is helpful in narrow staircases or hallways. It did a decent job of cleaning carpets in our carpet cleaning evaluation however it had a difficult time with thicker pile carpets and rugs. It can also be set to automatically lift the mop pad once it encounters carpet, which is a great feature if you want to not mop your carpets.
The iMop comes with an onboard dust bin as well as a water tank which it is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. The onboard dust bin holds up to 2.5 liters of debris and will only require emptying after a couple of cleaning cycles. The water tank can handle about a dozen mopping sessions before it is dry. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the standard robot vacuum, which can be a major selling point for busy families.
The iMop’s smartphone app is user-friendly and comes with a variety of options for configuration. It offers multiple suction modes, mopping settings and also scheduling. It allows you to set up virtual walls, no-go zones, and other restrictions so that your robot doesn’t wander into areas that aren’t safe for it. In addition, the app lets you view your iMop’s status as well as warnings about errors.
