The i3+ EVO unlike the other robot vacuums that we tested has a self emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment on its charging base once it is fully filled. The i3+ EVO is able to prevent overfilling by a self-emptying bin. However it still needs to be emptied manually at the end of each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dust bin can hold 2.4L which will last for four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7model, this model also uses the latest floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The i7 is also able to utilize its map to create no-go zones as well as virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO cannot.
The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing debris from the surface when compared to other robovacs that we have reviewed, but it is not the most effective in cleaning edges and corners. It’s also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being relatively quiet. It was a bit rough on furniture, as it pushed chairs away. It also caused collisions with the sides of the test bed.
